Merkel Craft Art & Novelties at the Venice Boardwalk Biennial, Venice Beach, California, 2012
Inspired by the now-closed LA pottery Treasure Craft, George Ohr’s “Fair Wares,” and the cheap plastic sunglasses for sale on the Venice Boardwalk, the Merkel Craft Art & Novelties booth was up for the 3-day run of the July 2012 Venice Boardwalk Biennial curated by Ali Subotnick and organized by the Hammer Museum.
